GARDENS
The Dinosaur's garden is as big as Yorkshire
with bones and blood all over the place.
There's lots of ferns and marshes there
where giant monsters are waiting for thelr victims.
They play hide and seek but when they find
another they would kill it.
Screeches and roaring noises are all I can hear
by the great wall where the garden ends.
Now the garden's gone with no sight of it left -
just buildings and factories are there.

Red Riding Hood's Garden
In the middle of the wood
it's dark there are trees all around
a circle of grass and a little house and garden
beautiful red roses and four daffodills in a row
dragonflies zoom and butterflies flutter
and thickly ants are crawling in the grass
birds fly in the blue sky
and the sun shines on the flowers.
From behind the trees the wolf is peeping:
all you can see is
his wicked green eyes
and one ear

---

It looks like an ordinary garden
in a quiet street.
The paved path with red flowers at the side,
soil round the edges and two pieces of grass.
Someone's been along and knocked the heads off the flowers.
Mum's bedroom window has been smashed like a jagged star.
Someone's hiding behind the hedge in the garden -
all you can see
is some spiky hair sticking up and two
black paws sticking out under the hedge.
From the bedroom comes Mum's voice -
screaming - "Dennis, Gnasher, get in here, now!"
