Writers Attachment Scheme


How do writers get started? The Writers Attachment Scheme: an apprentice-style training programme that gives writers with experience in publishing and performing a chance to run workshops with an experienced mentor.


 

The Windows Project Writers Attachment Scheme provides professional development and training for new and aspiring writers.

Placements typically take place at:

  • Game-based writing workshops on children

Placements typically take place at:

games-based writing workshops on children’s playschemes throughout Merseyside;

 in schools;

and at workshops for people with disabilities of all ages.

The Writers Attachment Scheme offers a unique opportunity to young and aspiring writers to receive mentoring from experienced writers.  This will comprise:

·      Initial induction group session covering

Child protection procedure

Freelance requirements re tax, insurance etc.

Theory and practice of using introductory games

Examples of good practice

·      Group session devising/planning new games 

·      Three on-site placements

·      Meeting with mentor before and after each session

·      Full documentation process

·      Final meeting with mentors and Windows Project co-ordinator
