ALAN GIBBONS


Novelist.
Winner of the Blue Peter Book Award 2000 ’The book I couldn’t put down’ for his best selling book Shadow of the Minotaur (Orion 1999).
Shortlisted for the prestigious Carnegie Medal 2001.
His recent book,The Edge, has been shortlisted for the Sheffield and Leicester Book Awards and longlisted for the Carnegie Award 2003.
A primary teacher, he is currently Author in Residence for Knowsley LEA and two Merseyside primary schools.
He performs and runs writing workshops in schools, libraries, colleges, education conferences and writing festivals.
He features in the BBC Education programme Writers Block and regularly contributes to TES, Junior Education and other journals.
