TONY GREEN


Tony Green (MA, PGCE): Playwright and teacher.
His plays have been produced in Liverpool, Manchester, London. He has an MA in Playwriting Studies (Distinction) from Birmingham University, and a PGCE +16 (Distinction) from Liverpool John Moores University. the short film Run Piglet Run! (2004, winner of the North West Vision Digi Shorts competition), and the radio play It’s A Wonderful Divorce (Radio 4, 2001). He was 5Arts Cities writer-in-residence at the Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse during 2004. He has devised and delivered creative writing courses for Liverpool University, the WEA, and the Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse.
Tony was the winner in the short story category of the Sheffield Thursday Writing Competition in both 1997 and 1998.

Workshops

Tony completed the Writers' Attachment Scheme in 1999, and has led poetry, fiction and playwriting workshops in schools and community venues on Merseyside including West Kirby Grammar School for Girls, Knowsley Hey School and Hillside High School.

Tony has worked for the Everyman's Theatre in Education department. He also lectures on playwriting for Liverpool University at the Centre for Continuing Education.
